Description
I've never come across baseboard or corner blocks like these. These large
corner blocks or plinth block were used as a baseboard block, typically at the
bottom of door trim. I have 2 of these remaining and they are $35 EACH. The
circular pattern reminds me of wagon wheels. The gouge work was almost
certainly carved by hand, as this is from a time way before routing bits! The
lines are remarkably even and pleasing to the eye and an indication of
craftsmanship. The wood feels fairly light for its size, so it is probably not
oak, possibly poplar. Each one measures about 8" high, the bottom is 7 1/2"
wide and the top is 3 7/8" wide, and it is 1 1/4" thick. Each one weighs under
1 pound.
You get ONE baseboard block for $35 with FREE shipping within the United
States. I'll gladly combine shipping with other items whenever possible. For
