Description
This is a truly beautiful PAIR (ie; 2) of brass door, finger push plates in in
an ornate shape with a central detail of a grillage, and various curved
patterns at the top, dating from the early 1900's. They are a shiny brass and
are typical of decorative finishes from the era. I have various designs and
quantities available, choose from the drop down menu, each listing is for a
PAIR.
They are ornate and opulent in construction, a confection from a bygone era.
They are a unique piece of decorative history, and could be used in many
settings, to enhance your period French home or added to a vintage collection.
I currently have many pairs in various designs, some much shorter ones in the
same style, and some other different designs in stock, if you search for "push
plates" within my store you will find various other designs listed. Combined
shipping discounts are possible.
They would originally have been used to prevent finger prints on your
paintwork or wood when opening doors.
There are no obvious markings on the reverse side. They would attach with tiny
brass tacks through 4 holes in the corners, (I will include new tacks).
Design A: 9.5" x 2.25" 122g
Design B: 8.75" x 2.5" 162g
Design C: 12" x 2" 185g
Design D: 12" x 2" 194g (A littled dented around the large central hole)
Design E: 8.75" x 2.25" 167g
They could benefit from some polishing, but I prefer the original condition,
so I will leave that for you to do if you so choose.
